I'm currently working for some mighty fine software shops on a contract basis.

I've previously contracted for:

• a Django / React + Typescript website that plays wedding videos for LoveStoriesTV
• a React + Typescript website to handle payment processing for Infinicept
• a Python / React + Typescript learning management system for Thinkful, a Chegg company
• a React + Typescript frontend and Rust backend for Clearbuild, a cash flow projection tool for construction companies
• a React + Typescript frontend for a presentation upload service deployed to Deloitte for Tribe Media
• a React + Typescript frontend and C# / .Net backend for a Medical Content Management system based on blockchain technology for Tribe Health Solutions
• a Python and Django based website for Covera Health (via Toptal)
• a Java to JavaScript / Node translation project for a social network (via Mindtrust Labs)
• managed an Asset Management system for Caterpillar (via Toptal)

Director of Software Development

Led a team of 10 people developing warehouse management software. Managed developer and tester tasking, customer relations, and releases. Reported directly to the owner of the company. Worked 60+ hours per week to get the job done properly.

Chief Operating Officer

Software duties included maintaining and upgrading e-commerce website build with Woocommerce and PHP, but were a small part of my job.

Performed varied duties in this small natural insect control product manufacturer - whatever needed to be done. Increased gross margin to 60% and EBITDA to 22%. Created pricing schedule. Negotiated over $1.4M buyout. Demonstrated products at trade shows to open new sales channels. Discovered and negotiated with vendors to procure ingredients and packaging supplies. Researched chemistry to invent new products. Manufactured and improved products. Ensured compliance with state and federal regulations. Assisted with legal strategy that led to buyout.

Head of Product Development

Coded first version and led development team (10 developers) of flagship software. Project grew to include PHP and Drupal plugins, C, C#, Python, Linux Shell Scripts, FFmpeg, Java, Javascript, HTML, and CSS.

On the strength of this project, the company sold for $40M in 2015. Transitioned to lead the operations team, ensuring the software was working and up-to-date. Held a Top Secret security clearance. Developed without Internet access due to restrictions of secure environments. Became company expert on Department of Defense security requirements (STIGs). Trained staff members about software development and processes.

Podax

Features include on-phone updating, variable speed playback, weekly planner, discovery, and more. Actively developed since 2011. Used personally on a daily basis as my main podcast player. Reached a peak audience in 2015 of approximately 2,000 users through Play Store and F-Droid. No longer published, but kept up-to-date with the latest Android frameworks such as RxAndroid, Kotlin, and Room
